Designing a reading-first homepage

Designing a reading-first homepage

A homepage for a blog is not a landing page. People arrive to read, skim, and decide whether the next piece is worth their time.

Hierarchy over chrome

We kept one featured story, a compact grid of latest work, and a longer list beside categories. Cover images earn their space; empty gray blocks are a last resort, not a look.

Type stays quiet on purpose. If the title and summary cannot carry the card, more decoration will not help.
